FIRST PHASE
STRATEGIZE
Initiating
& piloting the project:
Initially, every idea is based on awareness and abstract thinking
the ability to see the big picture and the vision to develop a plan to
guide the way. It requires asking and answering these questions: How is
this going to fit into the greater scheme? How is it actually going to
work?
SECOND PHASE
MOTIVATOR
Generating
energy to actualize the project:
In order for an idea to be actualized,
it has to gather energy, maintain its momentum and harbor resources to
see it through. Whether enlisting people power, investment capital or
personal enthusiasm, this phase requires all resources to be "charged
up," available and ready to proceed.
THIRD PHASE
ANALYZE
Planning
the project in detail and revealing and coping with inherent problems:
The initial vision must be broken
down into a meticulous plan with procedures, structure and timelines.
Inherent problems need to be confronted head on. Requires critical and
analytical thinking.
Now comes the reality check.
The need to clearly define the project's objectives and necessary tasks
occur in this phase. These questions need to be asked and answered: What
are the guidelines needed to proceed? Where are the mistakes and problems?
What is missing? What can we do to perfect this?
FOURTH PHASE
ACTIVATE
This
is where the physical action takes place:
Energy is clearly focused on working
until the project is completed and there is absolutely nothing left to
do. This phase gathers the collective force of the preceding phases and
marches them lockstep to the finish line. The bottom line is that things
get done.
FIFTH
PHASE
ASSESS
This
a generic phase that any person uses to evaluate the completion of the
Cycle:
Has the cycle been completed with success and satisfaction? Have all the
phases been tended to from beginning to end? If yes, then there is success
and satisfaction. If no, then the cycle starts again.
The Cycle as an Individual
Graph
The Success/Satisfaction Cycle is represented in an individual's graph.
The graph shows how the individual moves through the Cycle. The
size of each colored quadrant of the graph represents how much energy
they naturally devote to that aspect of the Cycle. The sizes are named
Predominant (the largest), Preferred (second largest), Select (medium
sized) and Stress (smallest). The last phase, Assess, does not have a
visual representation because it is a generic phase used for determining
whether the Cycle has been completed with both success and satisfaction.
